Telegram Integration

Connect your Telegram account to HornetHive and chat with your AI growth team right from your phone. Run crews, check outcomes, ask questions — everything you can do in the web app, from a Telegram conversation.

🚀 Quick Start​

  1. Navigate to Settings > Messaging in your HornetHive workspace
  2. Click "Connect" on the Telegram card
  3. Open the link — it opens a chat with the HornetHive bot in Telegram
  4. Tap "Start" — your accounts are linked automatically

That's it. Start chatting with your growth team.

⚙️ How It Works​

Account Linking​

When you click "Connect" in the Messaging settings, HornetHive generates a one-time deep link token. This token is embedded in a Telegram deep link (t.me/HornetHiveBot?start=<token>) that:

  1. Opens a chat with the HornetHive bot
  2. Sends /start <token> automatically
  3. The bot validates the token and links your Telegram account to your HornetHive account
  4. The token expires after 10 minutes and can only be used once

Message Routing​

Every message you send to the bot is:

  1. Authenticated — resolved to your HornetHive account via the linked Telegram user ID
  2. Contextualized — your business context (ICP, brand, goals) is loaded automatically
  3. Processed — routed through the same LLM pipeline as the web assistant
  4. Persisted — saved to your conversation history (visible in the web app too)
  5. Formatted — optimized for Telegram's display (concise, mobile-friendly)

Run Crews​

📱 Telegram-Specific Behavior​

The assistant adapts its responses for Telegram:

  • Concise responses — shorter than web chat, optimized for mobile reading
  • No heavy markdown — uses simple formatting (bold, lists) instead of headers and tables
  • Character limit — responses capped at 4,096 characters (Telegram's limit). For detailed results, you'll get a link to view the full output in the web app
  • One conversation — all messages go to a single chat thread with the bot

🔒 Security​

Authentication​

  • Telegram webhook requests are verified using a secret token in the X-Telegram-Bot-Api-Secret-Token header
  • Your Telegram user ID is mapped to your HornetHive account — no one else can access your data through your Telegram chat
  • One-time link tokens expire after 10 minutes

Data Privacy​

  • Messages are stored in your HornetHive conversation history with the same row-level security as web conversations
  • Telegram does not have access to your HornetHive data — the bot only receives and sends messages
  • You can disconnect at any time from Settings > Messaging

🔧 Managing Your Connection​

Disconnect​

  1. Go to Settings > Messaging in the web app
  2. Click "Disconnect" on the Telegram card
  3. Your link is revoked immediately — the bot will no longer respond to your messages

Reconnect​

Follow the same Quick Start steps. A new link token will be generated.

Multiple Workspaces​

Each workspace has its own Telegram link. If you have multiple workspaces, you can connect Telegram to each one — but messages will be routed to the most recently linked workspace.

🚨 Troubleshooting​

Bot isn't responding?

  • Make sure your account is linked (check Settings > Messaging)
  • Try disconnecting and reconnecting
  • Ensure your HornetHive workspace is active (not paused)

"Account not linked" error?

  • Your link token may have expired. Generate a new one from Settings > Messaging
  • Make sure you tapped "Start" when the Telegram chat opened

Responses are cut off?

  • Telegram has a 4,096-character limit. For full results, click the link to view in the web app
  • Try asking the assistant to summarize more concisely
